DJ Daddy Bob (aka Rob Rightmyer) began DJ’ing 30 years ago in college at the University of Kentucky on 88.1 WRFL-FM and hosted a Saturday night hip hop show called “Verbs of Power” for several years.
Relocating to Orlando, Florida for school in the mid-1990s, he discovered the amazing nightclub scene there and fell in love with dance music, specifically funky breaks and electro as Florida was then the epicenter for funky breaks.
Work brought him to Nashville, Tennessee after college and soon after he began playing shows, parties and raves in the area and over time has held multiple residencies and traveled across the US to perform.
Daddy Bob is known for playing funky, feel good, booty shankin’ dance music that leans heavily towards the house music side of the spectrum but can also include tech house, breaks and bass.
As a producer he have multiple releases under his belt, highlights include the top prize remix in a contest for Groove Armada’s “I See You Baby” in 2000 and a song in the 2002 motion picture “The Banger Sisters”.
