Hlamulo Vincent Mkansi, known as a DJ VEANY, was born in Limpopo and started doing music back in the early 2000’s. He went on to further his craft by acquiring a sound engineering qualification in 2005 and later in the year signed with Blackwhole entertainment.
2007 saw him release his first ever vinyl record and worked on the indigenous and memorable hit House album titled “On Another Level”. Within this same year, he worked as the in house producer/ sound engineer for the company.
As a DJ he has played many countries in Europe and around the SADC region. Veany’s music has been featured in over 10 South African compilations, with a number of EP’s, countless singles and a full album in 2009.
His music has been remixed by many internationally acclaimed producers such as Abich Soul, Rocco, Groove Addix, UPZ and few local prominent acts.
Veany specializes in a unique sound whereby he blends Deep Funky House, Minimal, Progressive and Deep Tech. He owns the label Jam City Soul, where he has a lot of his own releases under and collaborates with other labels such as Vitamin, Deep, ZMG, So What and Abicah Soul Recordings.
