Where it starts and where it ends are two entirely different happenings with Dalemma. She offers an eclectic mix of spicy, fun, and deep, emotive moments, shifting and evolving from start to finish, always interlaced with plump and persistent bass. Dalemma is all about giving you a dissimilar journey that will leave you feeling fully spent and satisfied while also wanting more.
Dalemma has already supported some amazing artists such as Lowdown & Matt Caseli, as well as having played some cool festivals, like ‘Jungle Love Festival’. She has also played many clubs, events, and warehouse parties all across Queensland, like Sub Rosa, Arcade, and Saturday Social, just to name a few, but the list goes on.. Dalemma also has her very own slot on an amazing online radio show called ‘LESH FM’ every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evening at 6 pm AEST.
Never afraid to go too deep, heavy, soft, or even too strange. Dalemmas versatile and emotive musical selections are her own therapy. Dalemma grew up with an eclectic background of funk music (George Clinton, Prince, Bootsy Collins etc), Electronica like Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, Gorillaz etc, and synth-infused, electronic 80s & 90s music like, Depeche Mode, New Order and David Bowie. But their passion for electronic music, especially house music, was REALLY ignited at age 12 when she received her first Hed Kandi CD from her great aunt. From that year forward, she bought every single Hed Kandi, Ministry Of Sound, and Clubbers Guide CD the minute they hit the shelves, all the way into her 20s. She was also heavily influenced by artists like Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, and The Bloody Beetroots.
Dalemma ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influences. Today, this translates into sets where she picks apart and infuses together many genres, including house, deep house, tech house, techno, breakbeat, garage, 140 bass, drum & bass, bass music of all sorts, acid jazz, electronic music of many varieties, many experimental styles and basically everything and anything in between that evokes strong feelings and excitement in Dalemma.
This has resulted in Dalemma absolutely loving to explore as many different styles as possible, expressing herself in her sets in so many different ways. It all depends on her mood, the atmosphere, the occasion, and it often very much depends on the event in question. You can expect a lot of house influences in her sets, but also, a lot of the time, she tends to fuse different genres together, always creating an unexpected and uniquely selected journey, tailored to every event specifically.
As a producer, Dalemma considers herself as aspiring. She has an imminent and contrasting selection coming to your ear holes soon! However, Dalemma already has a captivating flamenco infused deep house track out now on Australia’s celebrated and much loved ‘Hot Sunday Records’. Considering this is her very first release, it has been very well received. ‘Sail’ has had support from the likes of ‘Sofi Tukker’ among others, and it also charted in the Beatport Top 100 Deep House charts and Hype charts for many, many weeks. Given that Dalemma has a very diverse taste in music, we are all very excited to see what she has in store for us next!
“For me, it’s all about creating a diverse and unique shared experience. It’s mostly just dependant on my mood and the event, really. No rules, no singular genre. I truly believe variety is the spice of life, and like so many, I feel confined and bored if put in a box. It’s all about exploration, experimentation, divergence, and passion for me. But most importantly, it’s all about sharing the love of music and spending quality time in the community!
